SueRyder

Sue Ryder gives expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support to local residents from its Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice - the only specialist palliative care unit in Peterborough.

Our team of Sue Ryder Nurses, doctors, family support team, complementary therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and our spiritual lead are there to help people to live the best life they can.

As well as the inpatient unit, our Hospice at Home team provide palliative care to people in their own homes. We don’t just look after patients but their families too – offering family and bereavement support.

MindSpace

A charity whose vision is to improve the wellbeing of the whole town, MindSpace Stamford offers an extensive programme of activities based on the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.  Everything that MindSpace offers is free of charge, community-led and open to everyone.

Funds donated from the Stamford Santa Fun Run over the past years have not only helped to keep MindSpace’s programme of wellbeing activities free and accessible to everyone, but have enabled the charity to broaden its offering from a drop in café to more diverse activities such as Mindfulness, LBGTQ+ and Menopause support groups. Even more significantly, funds raised have contributed to enabling MindSpace to have its doors open for 5 days a week. In today’s world, MindSpace has been a lifeline for some of Stamford’s citizens.

  • Those with Down’s syndrome working at the Birch Tree Cafe Easton on the Hill
  • The people residing at Brown’s Hospital and Truesdale’s Alms Houses Stamford
  • Those with mental health issues through their support for Stamford MindSpace
  • The disabled through their ongoing support to Sailability
  • The elderly through their work with Christchurch
